K1 Aerial, UAS & Geospatial Services Commercial drone operations and geospatial services based in Moses Lake, WA. Serving Central Washington.

I'm a geospatial professional based in Moses Lake, Washington with a background in GIS, cartography, web mapping, and spatial analysis. My interest in GIS began while studying geology and natural hazards at Central Washington University. What started as learning how to make maps gradually expanded into spatial analysis, databases, web mapping, and geospatial problem solving.

After graduating, I worked for Franklin County in the Public Works Department, where I was responsible for maintaining GIS data, supporting field operations, developing web maps and applications, and creating maps for county staff. During my time there, I maintained GIS data, supported field operations, developed web maps and applications, and produced maps used by county staff. I worked extensively with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, Field Maps, and Dashboards while supporting a variety of infrastructure-related GIS projects. I also became involved with the Franklin County Regional Information System (FRIS), the Tri-Cities Local GIS Network, and the broader GIS community throughout the region.

Adding UAS to the Mix

In 2026, I earned my FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, allowing me to conduct commercial drone operations in the United States. My interest in drones grew naturally from my GIS background, particularly the ability to collect aerial imagery and view familiar landscapes from a completely different perspective.

I'm still early in that journey, but I'm actively exploring ways to combine aerial imagery with GIS and mapping projects. Whether it's documenting storm damage, creating aerial photographs, collecting imagery for mapping purposes, or experimenting with georeferenced drone imagery, I'm interested in the many ways aerial data can support geospatial projects.

K1 Aerial, UAS & Geospatial Services

K1 Aerial, UAS & Geospatial Services represents the next step in my professional development. What began as a career in GIS has gradually expanded into aerial imagery and drone operations. The goal is to combine those two skill sets where they make sense, whether that's aerial photography, mapping, documentation, or geospatial analysis. While the business is still in its early stages, I'm continuing to build experience, expand my portfolio, and explore new ways drones can support geospatial projects throughout Eastern Washington and beyond.
